Believe me, if Discord, Big Mac, Soarin, Cheese or even not shown characters like Starswirl were her love interest then they would not even generate 5% of hate Flashlight got becasue those are either DEVELOPED characters or INTERESTING or part of EQUESTRIA setting. Flash just appeared out of nowhere in a movie that felt like “Smurfs visiting New York” kind of movie. You know when characters from their world somehow visit our world and they have “wacky” adventures dealing with our realm. It happen with many movies like Looney Tunes, Beastmaster, HeMan etc.  
And this is what this suppose to be. Unrelated movie about humans to sell human dolls related to mlp. Now when you add something that important for Twilight development as love interest and its a generic character from such movie then no wonder people are pissed. His counterpart in Equestria is not exactly interesting either. And fact that he only exist because Hasbro wanted a crush is just an insult for Twilight character.

Yet notice that more people complain about Flash than they do about Cadence or Shining Armor. I mean it’s not just her writing for them either. In all the episodes that we’ve had Cadence and Shining Armor, what real character development have they gotten? Shining Armor’s about as interesting as a pile of bricks and Cadence has literally no character flaws. Yet they don’t get half the flack Flash does.
 
If it’s just about the shipping bit, so what? I mean how much character development is needed for it to be alright to have them together without the complaints? It’d almost require an entire episode’s worth don’t you think? I mean there were few complaints when Trender Hoof came in. Rarity was obsessed with him and he was smitten by Applejack. He got about as much attention as Flash but is it because no one wound up together that it became alright? I dunno, I feel like even if Flash did get a lot of development people would still be unhappy simply because he and Twilight are shipped.

Him at least appearing in the background in any episode of Season 3 at least would be something. Meghan just suck at new characters. Her Cadance, Shining Armor and Sombra were terrible. If shes good with exploring already made characters then she should just ship her with Discord or Big Mac or even better not ship her in that movie at all.

If we applied your thinking across the board, no story would ever get written. Twilight is just there to appeal to bookish people! Cheese was only made to be a rival to Pinkie! Etc. You don’t provide any solid reasoning whatsoever why Twilight liking Flash is a bad thing. It’s like you think Flash should have starred in his own movie before ever meeting Twi. Ridiculous.

The problem is that Brad was created “just” for Twilight to have a crush. He was never established to have other purpose so no amount of damage control will make him a tolerable candidate for Twilight. Its like taking a shit on a table and then applying traits that will make this shit interesting like for example saying that this shit have saved the life of little mice that hide under it to escape from a cat. Its still a stinking shit and i dont want it on my table. Introduce a new character, even if its Brads twin brother. As long as he is doing something before falling in love with Twilight.

Just watch. I’m willing to bet that the villains will use those gems to make him hostile towards Twilight before they find out what’s going on and she’ll be heartbroken. Then she’ll want to go home and Sunset Shimmer will stop her.

Alright Flash, you get some points for that. Just stay away from my waifus! I have a rolled-up newspaper and I am NOT afraid to use it!

I kinda figured that personally. Y’know, it’s funny to see Sunset get so much focus in these previews considering I remember some fans said they think she should be the main character of the EqG movies instead of Twilight.

Confirmed Sunset never liked Brad She just used him and now he is just asking for Twitwi my waifu is SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAFFFFFFFFFFFFEEE!!!!
