Holy shit
I guess that might be part of it. All I can really say is that I’m one of those people who just can’t wear fedoras. I tried one out in the store once- one look in the mirror I decided “It just isn’t gonna work out,” and put it back.
Really, I’m just not a hat wearing guy in general. People have told me I just don’t have the right face for it.
I think part of it is your body type/weight and facial hair. If you have too much of either, fedoras just look ugly.
I find that with fedoras, in order to be at their best, I need to be worn as part of an ensemble- basically, it actually needs to match if your outfit. Otherwise, it just looks like shit.
But there’s something else to fedoras as well- some undefinable, intangible quality if you don’t have it, you’re shit out of luck. I really wish I could be more specific about it, but all I can really say is: if you don’t have this quality, a fedora will never look good on you, no matter how well put together the rest of your outfit is
Indeed.
Or an adventurer-archaeologist.
Exceptions should be made if one is, in fact, a private eye. The job may not be as cool as it used to be, but the outfit is grandfathered in.
1.) Are you an old man?
Yes -> Wear it.
No -> Go to Question 2.
2.) Are you Justin Timberlake?
Yes -> Wear it.
No -> Don’t wear it.
Surprisingly, most of the anons questions are quite tame… while a few are just so bizarre, I don’t know how to respond yet.
I might enable anon asks after I’ve done some big posts I shoulda finished long ago.
I see. I just figured that in your case, you shut it off so anons can’t spam you with annoying/stupid questions and/or fetish requests. It’s my understanding that that sort of thing is unfortunately very common.
Well, this is some new knowledge for a Bruneian bum like me.

I love you too, Background Pony #9DBF8
@Antonyourknee
I personally liked how the fedora is worn with the suits worn in those gangster films.
@Silent_Witness
Awwhhh, I would open anon asks, but I disabled that at the moment so I wont get too many questions. I’m trying to manage my backlog of asks, but until then… anon ask is off :/
iam running around with a tophat, and slapping people who offend me with a glove!
Linkara can pull it off.
As an aside, I would love to send a question to this blog, but it’s one of those ones that requires that you have a tumblr account in order to ask questions. I mean, I get why the artist did that, but it’s still kind of annoying.
Fedoras have been around for decades worn by some of the greatest Americans and beyond. Sure a couple of attention seeking losers tried to spur some of the fedoras classic greatness onto themselves while mixing it with their own stupid hipster culture but I hope one day people can start wearing the fedora again practically and clean of any lingering idiocy from internet blow hard.
The only people I see that regularly wear fedoras are:
I. Women
II. East coasters
III. East coast women
I never, ever, ever see them in the Midwest worn in the stereotypical manner.
