Yeah, but my point was Seasons 1 & 2 rehashed some plot-points to is all. It could be argued there’s some unique things in those stories you’re complaining about to.
Nearly every CMC episode is them being cute, silly, or dealing with bully/kid/confidence issues. (But I still enjoy them.)
I don’t know, I’m not bothered by the newer episodes honestly, but to each their own.
Having certain story elements that resemble things that have been done in other cartoons does not mean the episode wasn’t unique in its presentation. As for staring down monsters, this was back when that was a character trait that they were building, not a rehash of an earlier plot.
These days, we’ve had so many “Fluttershy learning to overcome her fears (to which they’ve continued making additions for no good reason),” “It’s all up to Twilight to save the day,” “Pinkie questions her place in life,” “Rainbow Dash is a bonehead,” and “CMC hatch schemes that get them in trouble” episodes it’s ridiculous.
Well, one could argue it had traces of the “babysitter” plots from other cartoons. Not to mention recycling the “Fluttershy overcomes a terrible monster” bit from “Dragonshy.”
So it wasn’t 100% original either.
Not bashing the episode, as I liked it.
