Spike and Sombra are arch-nemesis naturally, much as Link and Ganondorf, they can get along as well, but don’t trust each other much just like in this pic, fighting over Twilight like over Zelda.

I’ve always thought it appropriate the way that Spike is eternally dubious of Sombra in this comic. It’s as though he still doesn’t truth the stallion who bought Twilight in a market. The way he doesn’t seem to love Twilight very much throughout the story, as seen here, only aids in seeing things from Spike’s point of view.
