I don’t know about that. If Blueblood married someone, they would probably call her a princess. Just a thoroughly outranked one.
Me neither, but given the requirements for being a Prince are much lower than those for being a Princess, it seems possible to me that they feel no need to reserve the title for male alicorns, which would imply that they don’t happen.
I can’t imagine why it would be exclusive to mares.
Well, there’s alicorns for the sun and moon, but not one for the Earth. She could be in charge of managing earthquakes and making sure the soil can grow plants and stuff. Or something like that.
Though I’d kind of like either to see a male alicorn, or to have confirmation that only mares can become alicorns.
Princess of Scorn would suit her better. :)
Or maybe Princess of That Jacket. If that outfit of hers isn’t enough to merit ascending to alicornhood, I don’t know what is. :)

Well Cadence would logically still be the Princess of Love. Maybe Twilight would get a student to be her replacement as Princess of Friendship. She could probably be taught the dreamwalker spell if Luna felt so inclined.
