I’m not so sure about that. I don’t really see that desire in Spike. His problem is more that he doesn’t know who he is than that he isn’t accepted for it.
Honestly I’d put him in Teddy’s role. Both are character’s who have serious problems with their fundamental identity beyond just being the funny sidekick.
A valid point, but I would argue that her desire to be accepted by high society is more central to Rarity’s character.
She is certainly embarrassed by her parent’s, but does not seem to fear becoming them.
In fact a new train of thought occurs: Rarity is like Yukiko, but only after her issues are resolved.
Well, they’re both worried about being stuck in their home town and winding up like their parents, so they both focus on moving away and remaking themselves. Fluttershy is probably gonna be Rise, cause they’re both reluctant stars.
Honestly I think that Fluttershy = Yuki would be a better match.
For Rarity I’d go with Kanji due to his baggage being all about wanted to be accepted, which is something I see in our little dressmaker.
