Keeping her nameless is the dumbest thing they can do. Which may explain why they are doing it.

I think they were trying to please both sides, sense so many pro-Derpy fans protested giving her another name during the “Derpygate” drama. (There were petitions, and stuff against giving her a new name.) Some even insist if she does get a new name then “the SJWs win.”  
Both sides to the whole “Derpygate” argument (the anti-Derpy-name folk, and the pro-Derpy-name folk) overreacted, I feel.
 
Though yeah, even though I have nothing against “Derpy,” I’m kinda with you, I don’t mind them giving her another alternate name like “Ditzy-Doo,” “Bubbles,” or “Fred.” (Sense they’re not allowed to use “Derpy” anymore.) It always looks weird when they go out-of-their-way to not name her in all the merch’ she appears in.
 
“Derpy” can still be her beloved fanon nick-name, even if she gets a “real name.”

I saw “Muffins” before, (like on that official Derpy wig item) kinda surprised they didn’t go with “Bubbles,” but that name is likely already trademarked by to many other characters.
 
According to the Funko figures, her name is “I HEART PONY!” :P

If she gets a “character” card (Main or Friend), it will likely be Muffins, since that seems to be what other 3rd parties are using. She has yet to be as one of these, and only been on event/problem/resource cards so there’s been no reason to name her yet.

Instead of giving Derpy a different name, they decided to take the coward’s way out. That’s pathetic.

They can’t use Derpy anymore, thanks to all the “Derpygate” drama, and such. Amy Keaton Rogers already clarified why they can’t use the name anymore.  
Though, apparently, ‘cause fans insisted “It’s either Derpy, or nothing” they decided to just leave her nameless to avoid upsetting both sides to the argument.
 
To be honest, I don’t care if they call her “Ditzy-Doo,” (never got why fans are so against that name now) or something, if they can’t use “Derpy” anymore.

I’d be amazed if Derpy gets a card.
