Yep, with Willem Dafoe as Shreck. Never seen it, but I know about it.
I’ve also heard that at least once in his later years Schreck got past a Wehrmacht patrol who thought he was up to no good by making like Orlock. He did such a good job that they immediately believed he was indeed Max Schreck.
And a bit OT but did you ever see a very bizarre movie titled Shadow of the Vampire which was based on the idea that Schreck was a real Nosferatu, and that Murnau feeds him various actors to get him to help make the movie?
It seems so. Shreck was the lone, strictly family and quite mysterious kind of fellow, but reports say he was nice enough: surely he wasn’t inmune to all things cute and sweet.
For some odd reason, I find him alot more creepy when he’s smiling rather than his normal look…
