Yeah, she never really did that prior in the show, or comic.
 
Still, I like how it might be a bit of a shot at the people who complain the comics are “to dark” for kids. According to Katie Cook many kids love the comics. She even said kids loved the “Nightmare Rarity” arc better then the bronies did.

 

I dislike this. I don’t like the idea of Pinkie breaking the 4th wall so directly like this.

I wonder if this is a subtle joke about some fans complaining that some parts of this comic were to “dark/edgy” for a kid’s book.
 
While forgetting how “dark” some children’s fairy-tales, TV shows, movies, and such are occasionally. (Just look at Return to Oz, Little Nemo: Adventures in Slimberland, Goonies, and such were. Those were total “nightmare fuel” at times, yet I loved those movies as a kid.)
 
In fact, in the original “Little Mermaid” story, the mermaid died originally.

I wonder what she’s doing that would make it unsuitable for a kid’s comic.

Dammit Pinkie, the walls between worlds are already crumbling. We don’t need you breaking down the fourth one, too!
