No that wasn’t me. Also that version was 1024px wide, the largest you can get from this artist’s deviantart, whereas the tumblr version is 1280px wide.
 
Some artists limit the size that can be downloaded on dA (then why upload the full version in the first place? I hate it when Details say it’s 3000px or so wide and you cna only get a third of that).  
Tumblr just resizes anything too big down to 1280px.
 
The other way around we sometimes get 1280px tumblr pics when there’s a 3000px deviantart version. Some people call it ‘stealing’ an upload (because of votes etc), but I just care for pics I like and want the highest quality* available.
 
  • = exceptions apply. For example sometimes a traditional art scan is really big but also very noisy or blurry, then I just stick with whatever was already uploaded.
