I’m not “hanging around”, weirdo. I’m subscribed to this image’s comment section, obviously. And like I said before, the primary reason I have for doing so is to hold up your work as the most pristine example I know of for a truly terrible Twilight ship. If you think that’s a badge of honor, more power to ya.

My thanks to both of you for the encouragement. Hearing from people who enjoyed this comic helps balance things against folks like our mystery rager. Though even that is a form of endorsement.

Nope, I really like Clutter, and the fact that Silver Quill made him isn’t doing him disfavors either. I think his conflicts are very much building character. You don’t like it, fine, but don’t clunk down on others for liking him.

You’ve got to be kidding. This “character”, if you can even call him that, is the example I show people when I say, “Hey, at least Flash isn’t some completely nauseating self-insert like THIS creep.”

And just like that, we have a better love interest than Flash story-wise. This story shows that twilight fel for Clutter’s nature and character and not just for his looks, yes I said “fell” as if it is just a light crush, you don’t look in a window and see someone or describe someone with such affectionate words. YOU, good Sir or Madam, wrote this magnificiently, and even though many who have OC’s try to make the related to the cast and it is unapreciated, Clutter is not related to them, yet interacts with Twilight, Shining Armor and Princess Celestia so wel that he could very well have been written in by the main writers. Does it make him a hero? on the contrary, it makes him the Martha Jones of the story, being ready to help others even at the expense of his own safety. If you don’ know Marha jones, it is a character from Doctor Who, and one of the best companions according to me. She is brave, smart and ready to do what has o be done. Anyways, well done.

Just look at this page. It’s got this great big starry-night panel of him looking all noble or something while Twilight ruminates about how special he is. The gag factor is off the charts.

I know it has, and honestly it’s one of the types of characters I like, but there’s certain kinds. There’s the kind that are ridiculously stupid and just do funny things that people seem to like (which more often than not is the most annoying kind), and there’s the kind that… They know what they’re doing, they’re doing it for others rather than themselves, but logic seems to escape them on specific things that could either hurt them, or cost them something…  
Like Clutterstep and the head wound he had through this whole thing… or Goku in Dragonball Z where he’s beaten to a bloody mess on a regular basis, yet he’s afraid of needles…

“Lovable idiot” has been done to death. To be honest, I’m thoroughly bored with that kind of thing. It seems as if the most convenient protection against criticism is to make one’s character kind of dumb, but supposedly amusing. I don’t think many people even think about it too much. Look at sitcoms, cartoons, modern comedies, and of course, fanfiction/comics. It’s everywhere.

Can’t really describe him & is special.

I appreciate the feedback and while the story was indeed done a lot after MMC, I had fun doing my own take. I’m curious, who are the other two OC’s you mentioned?

Story was pretty good…ish. Putting an OC into situations like that with a canon character is always questionable. Twilight’s situation was just kinda done a shit load after that episode aired. Not that I’m saying it’s bad that the story went in that direction, it’s just I’d unfortunately seen it a shit load beforehand. I like Clutterstep though. Not sure I care much for the relationship with Twilight, but it’s not like I couldn’t stand it or anything. Can’t really explain why, it’s not a “my waifu!” thing, it’s just… I dunno, indifference…
 
Clutterstep is a pretty good character though. He’s funny, witty, got a lot of charm and he’s the lovable kind of idiot. I’d put him in with the very few OC’s (that being about 3) I kinda like. He’s entertaining. I look forward to seeing more of him.
