Seems according to the Daily Finance, My Little Pony continues to dominate while Barbie is falling behind big time.
You can read about it at: http://www.dailyfinance.com/2014/06/24/hasbro-my-little-pony-prospers/
In the meantime, Pinkie Pie, will you get down from there? You’ll hurt yourself.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Centaur that’s the daughter of a centaur and a harpy, and a character that’s a zombie/unicorn hybrid. Dad was a zombie, mom was a unicorn.
>horse hybrids
Satyrs/Centaurs or bust?
Well, considering that they beat them during Christmas and Monster High is having a line that’s all about crossing timespace and heavily involves horse hybrids…
>Monster High isn’t as well known and has been expertly driven into the ground recently.
Whatcha mean? That somehow EqG managed to beat them?
Yeah. As a matter of fact, a couple of their Comic-Con exclusives involve that.
They also have Hot Wheels and Matchbox, as well has He-man(mostly nothing but collectors grade action figures for the people that grew up with the old toys), and mos WWE toys are by them.
Don’t they have the DC comics license still?
They constantly flaunt that they own an icon and then do almost nothing with it. They think it will sell itself on the basis of being an icon.
@Background Pony #3EDB
They keep trying to prop it up but they’ve got so much competition now, and actually have to respond to it. That takes away what they can do.
They do?
That’s news to me. Never really payed attention to the company to know this stuff accurately.
They’ve got Thomas the Tank Engine but they spent a MASSIVE amount of money to own him and even that franchise is steadily beginning to erode.
I just remember MH being really hot like 2 years ago… I dunno if it is anymore because I see less of them now.
American icons, yes, but relevancy? I dunno… especially Hot Wheels, I haven’t heard of those in ages.
You’d think Mattel would try to keep the brand alive, since… well… they got nothing else, really.
There is an incredibly self-referential web series about her, but I think they forgot to put in more than one joke in it.
Mattel doesn’t really know how to do media, sadly.
Monster High isn’t as well known and has been expertly driven into the ground recently. Barbie and Hot Wheels are American icons, and the health of the former has a lot of politics surrounding it.
Barbie requires a television show or movie of her, written like the Lego Movie.
It would be awesome.
