And get schooled by said egghead.
If we can agree that she won because she cheated, sure.
@Nightweaver20xx
Nah. It would be hilarious if she did it one take.
Considering every character’s lines are recorded separately, I don’t think this would be a problem. She’s just record AJ and then Dash afterward. And then the audio guys would mix them together.
I want them to have a duet together, if only for the hilarity of hearing Ashleigh Ball try to maintain which character she’s singing as.
Yeah, they seem to have a bit of an irritating problem where they like to separate Twilight from the rest of the cast during almost all season openers and finales. The season four opener was a significant step in the right direction, but the season four finale (despite how much I loved it) was just as bad as it’s ever been. A Canterlot Wedding is the only one that featured the rest of the cast even less. I feel that the openers and finales should be about the WHOLE cast, not just the show’s loosy-goosy main character.
I love Twilight, but the show is about the bonds of friendship, not Twilight’s journey as a princess, alicorn powerhouse.
“Twilight all the time”
Really?
I agree; it really is baffling that they don’t share more episodes together to showcase this friendly rivalry further.
Better yet, I would love to see an adventure episode or two between them rather than trying to do the whole case or, more commonly, just Twilight all the time.
I’m surprised the show hasn’t put them together more often, they’re a great study in how people can be very much alike and have a lot in common but still have very different approaches and goals.
True, very true, and by no means am I saying that I dislike RD. The show very adamantly holds to the fact that these two are rival athletes that consider each other equals. Each with their own differing strengths and weaknesses, but ultimately equals. However, if one is to take RD’s cheating as a sign of her tiring to the point of being unable to continue competing fairly, then she lost the competition. If you look at the score board at the end of the episode, you’ll even see that AJ won at least one more competition fairly even AFTER RD started cheating.
Equals in canon or not, the fact still stands that Rainbow technically lost THIS competition against honest AJ. The only argument to the contrary that can be brought against her is that she really SHOULD have called RD out on her cheating when she first noticed it instead of waiting until the END of the competition. Her silence, even after she noticed what was going on, should be considered her silent acceptance of how RD was going about this. In other words, Rainbow really did win, but only because AJ challenged herself to continue competing against a cheating opponent and lost. After an internal decision like that, she really was being just as poor a sport as Rainbow for getting mad anyway at the end.
These two challenge each other in unique ways and THAT is what makes them such a good duo of characters.
Weren’t they tied when Rainbow Dash started cheating? Otherwise, yeah, I agree 100%
Oh no, I love this argument; gots mah shit saved in Word’n ever’thin _ Please don’t go.
“in FWF Applejack used the advantage of being an earth pony, which is surperior strength. Rainbow Dash used the advantage of being a pegasus, which is having wings. So where exactly is that cheating?”
When you use those wings not to resist the opposing force of your opponent, but to instead break the game by flying straight up and dipping them into the mud, or flapping to get just one more push-up, or literally flying just a tiny bit further than your opponent can jump in a JUMPING contest lol. Right about there is where most people not blinded by rainbow colors and shiny things start calling foul.
Applejack WON the Iron Pony contest fair and square.
No no, that was good, nobody should caress this– it’s a children’s book and that would be weird.
crap typo
No body caaaaaaaaaaressss
If you challenge a guy who’s twice your size to a tug of war, it’s still cheating if you bring a pickup truck. If you don’t want to get fairly clobbered at a strength competition, don’t challenge someone who is clearly stronger than you.
As the eventual outcome of the race– and the outcomes of the individual challenges before Dash started cheating– showed, the two were fairly evenly matched, with AJ having a significant advantage in raw power and RD having a significant advantage in speed and agility. They’re both top athletes in different sports.
Guilty as charged!
You’re right and I shall withdraw from this now.
