Do we really change? Or do we just take a while to actually learn who we always were?

There are so MANY parts of us that can never ever change. If something can change, it was because we learned something. Self improvement is definitely something real, I’d even say it’s unavoidable but some people have sadly proven that wrong.

Can you stop being evil over time? I don’t think so. Just like you cant stop being good over time either. Am I even slightly similar to the person I was 8 years ago? Actually, yes. I went through a lot of changes, a LOT until pretty much 8 years ago. It was 6 years ago though, that I finally gained friends. And a year after that before I realised just how good those friends are. And I’ve felt like a better person for this change in my life.

But being happy is not a change of character. Having respect for myself, having hopes, that changes how I act and behave. But I don’t think I changed. No more than a car that has it’s tank filled with fuel is now suddenly a different car.

But I’m just dicking around with semantics at this point. Yeah… I was wrong. Where it matters most, people can change. I’d say the things that can’t be changed are the least important parts of you. It’s what you’ve chosen to be inspite of those permanent parts that really says who you are. I am eating my words, and I don’t mind. Because I turned into a pillar of salt and can season these words nicely.

I’m an atheist, but I think people can change. The thing about being sorry is that there is no way for sure to show others that you mean it unless you act in a reformed way. Not all apologies are genuine, but many are.

This is the problem with Chrysalistianity though, you can be the biggest murderous bitch queen, and just say “Oops sorry” and you get forgiven. The right thing to do here is to blast all the magic lazers Equestria possibly can right at Chrisalis the moment she enters Ponyville. People don’t change. They can change the way they act and dress, but inside they are always the same… I just described a changling by coincidence. Awesome!

Even if you disagree with “religion” this fact still holds true, I like it.
