Any creature with hair/fur of any sort will enjoy being gently pet. It’s due to a special sort of nerve ending that triggers the “social grooming” instinct, resulting in a mild pleasure from being gently stroked by another creature.

Humans have them too. Ever been to a haircutting place and had your hair brushed?
