Like I said, I think it was from a fanfic. It might’ve been Background Pony. As I recall “Cousin Caramel” was moving onto Sweet Apple Acres as a sharecropper since he was having a hard time making ends meet.
Even if you attended a family reunion, that doesn’t mean you’re related to any of them except by marriage or your offspring. My black dad sticks out like a black sheep at my mother’s family white-as-snow family reunions. Even then, a close friend can easily be invited as well.
