i did’nt care for this,but i always liked the ponies were designed nicely.also tirek came from this ,and he’s awesome.this tirek.fim tirek is a little too goofy for my taste,but this one is cool.he looks like a thundercats villain.

Y’know, it’s nice to see so much hype over this, because people keep telling me “bronies hate G1,” and such.
 
Yet, I was one of the fans wanting Tirek to come back sense the Season 1 days. Wouldn’t mind seeing new versions to other earlier MLP villains/characters to.

Good! This will help me complete my disc collection series-wise (which is only G3, G3.5, and G4). It’ll be nice to have non-ripped DVD video. Hopefully, they won’t mince up the pilot or series finale like I’ve read reports about in an earlier release on Amazon.

Powder and Sundance appear in the Escape from Catrina special.  
Cherries Jubilee and Lickety Split appear throughout the 1st G1 tv series.

Starshine’s design is admittedly pretty. :P
 
The Midnight Castle (feat. Tirek) special and the Escape (feat. Catrina) specials should be included as the final two episodes of season 1 & 2 respectively, where they were edited and color updated as regular episodes.  
A few unfortunate cuts - mostly Mr. Moochick’s song and Catrina/Rep’s song - but the video and color quality is far better.
 
The Movie (feat. The Witch Bitches & the Smooze) probably won’t be included, but .. hopefully will be re-released too.

This isn’t the first time that the original G1 series has been released on DVD in the States.
 
On the other hand, this one does have MUCH nicer boxart - the last release of the G1 series was covered in ponies drawn in G2 style!

Starshine and Rose actually never appeared in the cartoons. They just use them on merchandise a lot for some reason.

I think the one with the specials will be a storewide release. No clue on the complete series set yet

if this gets released in stores and mlp fim doesn’t I will be so pissed.

It contains all 39 episodes of the original MLP series (I’m assuming that the Tales series is not included) and each episode is 10 minutes long, so ~6.5hrs.

This is a 4-disc set, yes. I did a little googlesearch on it. :)
 
Although, all the episodes of G1 MLP were already available in Region 1, though not in one complete set like this. Admittedly I think they’re OOP now and can only be got on eBay…

Well, the original Sonic cartoon “Complete Series” DVD set was 4-DVDs featuring 26 episodes (23 minutes long each) and they had small cases so they all fit into a box that skinny.
 
This could still be a 4-disc set, or something regardless of the smaller box.

Lickety-Split is standing in the left-hand foreground. Skydancer is the pegasus pony flying overhead. The other four are, clockwise from bottom right:

and I’m completely unsure about the pink earth pony down in that corner. To be honest, they’re just too small to clearly make out cutie-marks on.
 
But I can say with certainty Lickety-Split in the bottom left, Sundance in the far bottom right, and Skydancer flying above. :)
