They had a weapons check-in booth upfront at Animazement to make sure those props were safe. It says something that I came in with a polo and khakis and was the one getting eyed at by cops….

@Deserter I actually specialize in decommissioning airsoft guns to make them convention friendly. I’ve gotten a few looks from security, but nothing I carry is at all dangerous. Additionally, I have a large bag (Not in shot) that packs up all my tactical gear and guns.
 
So it’s only a great way to get shot only if you are not careful and brandish them in the open.

It’s a convention, I’m fairly certain no one is stupid enough to see people dressed up, see some dude wearing a dark blue military uniform with a moon sticker on his gun and go “Holy shit, he’s got a real gun!”
 
Then again, US police officers aren’t exactly know for their diplomatic skills.
