I don’t know how Ponyville (where Applejack is from and Rarity works) is the US, Paris and a place Pinkie can live while touring a continent that she shouldn’t know exists by train. But I give credit for not claiming they all have sexual preferences that I had to look up, at least.

Yeah, but that blog was mostly full of fairly rational headcanons, like what they wear under their clothes when they wear them, or family history that has nothing to do with ethnicity.

There is no Africa, there is no USA, there is no Korea, no Paris, no Saudi Arabia, no Russia, Ukraine or Europe…this is EQUESTRIA, not the planet earth inhabited by humans.

Here’s my headcanon:  
Twilight Sparkle is a purple unicorn from Canterlot who was a student and a librarian before she became part of the ruling class.
 
Applejack is an orange earth pony from Ponyville who grows, harvests, bakes, and sells apples.
 
Fluttershy is a yellow pegasus from Cloudsdale who cares for animals that seem to be sapient but don’t talk for whatever reason, and sets up ponies with their pets. Raindow Dash is also from Cloudsdale, and works on the weather team, but aspires to be part of a quasi-militaristic flight performance group.
 
Rarity is a milky white unicorn who makes and sells dresses in Ponyville.
 
Pinkie Pie is a pink earth pony who grew up on a rock farm and works as a baker in Ponyville.
 
None of them are USAian, Korean, Ukrainian, European, Indian, or Saddle Arabian.
