I guess. I was just addressing one particular part of NounVerb’s comment that didn’t quite sit well with me, one that taken on its own is a more general statement.

Agreed, but we’re talking about her, specifically, not female cosplayers in general.
Let me clarify, this is more about her apparent personality type than anything else.
She claims to be antisocial because living things are “unsafe”. Festival enviroments increases the likelyhood of this unsafeness do to having larger groups of people.
We her stated mission goals, it’s illogical to engage in a festival environment.
And that’s what I was disagreeing with. To simply accept something bad as inevitable is to be apathetic to it.
Every other thing he said I can agree with (to a certain extent), but the whole “it’s going to happen regardless” argument has never sat well with me. All it does is try to paint efforts towards improving things as futile.
He wasn’t trying to remove anyones responsibility or accountability. He was speaking about a measure of inevitability.
