Tirek would have been hiding from the mane six. He was still weak and vulnerable. It’s entirely plausible that in the process of avoiding them, he never got a clear look at Twilight, especially in a dark unlit castle late at night.
The Shadow Pony was in the next room in the last scene. It could not have missed Twilight.
I meant he was only out there when they were inside. He might not’ve even known they were there.

Pretty sure the Pony of Shadows would have noticed that Twilight was an alicorn.
If I recall correctly, he was outside the castle while they were inside and likely heard them but never really saw them, hiding and whatnot.
