Yeah, having bygones be bygones sounds like the better symbolism to Discord offering the flowers to Celestia to show he is now fully reformed and has learned a lot more about friendship now than compared to the events in Keep Calm and Flutter On and Three’s A Crowd.

Do you mean that the flowers are meant to signify that bygones are now (at last) bygones? I can definitely buy that better than that they’re merely an apology. Still doesn’t quite explain why he put them both in Celestia’s face… or the wink…  
I’m not saying those gestures are necessarily romantic, but they are fascinating.

I was responding to Conred who guessed the second bouquet from Discord was for Luna (as opposed to both of the bouquets being for Celestia). It’s a valid theory, but if true, it means Cadence was left out for some reason.

This is the scene before he gave them flowers, i suspect that animators didnt used Luna in that scene so the shippers could get some Dislestia fuel, but other than that its an innocent gift as a sign of apology

Makes sense, he did say he was tracking Tirek just for Fluttershy’s sake. I was a bit worried they would have do the whole “pretend to betray you” thing, didn’t think he would go all the way with his alliance with Tirek.

@Background Pony #2CE7 I think it was more that he was struggling to really figure out what exactly this “friendship” concept is, and it’s only after what happened in the finale that he finally, TRULY understood, what friendship actually is. That’s why I’m glad that they hadn’t ignored his story arc either. It really helped reinforce his own character growth and story.
