But what I mean is you can’t use only a 3DS to do that.
3DS don’t got a GBA slot.
You can send over gen 3 pokemon via PalPark.
Ok, there’s a reason to have the games.
Which also means that you can’t trade from R/S/E to any DS game if you only have a 3DS. Which is another reason why they deserve a sequel.
But you couldn’t trade between Gen 1 and three, so if you wanted a charizard you would need the remakes.
Well then they were rather unnecessary weren’t they?
I found them to be unnecessary myself. I honestly think FireRed/LeafGreen were the weakest games in the series.
GBA (including SP) can play GameBoy games, meaning you could play Red/Blue/Yellow and its remakes on the same system.
Those were announced about 6 years prior Johto, so it seems the time frame pattern is more or less solid.
No ****ing way!
Well…
I need to tell my nephew I got dibs on Ruby!

There will not be a Sinnoh remake until Nintendo comes out with a handheld that is no longer backwards-compatible with DS games. The reason Hoenn gets remakes is that 3DS cannot play GBA cartridges. Sinnoh, however, can be played on a 3DS.
Same goes for another Kanto remake. HeartGold/SoulSilver has Kanto, and is also compatible with the 3DS system.
What about the Kanto remakes? (FireRed & LeafGreen)
The Fairy type, duh.
Why would they? Gen 3 was the last gen before the current system with the special and physical attack split. Don’t think there’s much to add in Sinnoh.
