Also, the easiest way to embed a Derpibooru image that links to the image page is:

visit the desired image
click on the “Embed this image” link below the tags
copy-paste the code shown in the Thumbnailed Textile box

Voila!

Note you don’t need the < >, but you do need to use both the ! “ to enclose your Pictures, and Links.
