Amusingly, I, too, am a dude, but I’ve been wearing corsets for while. Still ahven’t been straightlacing or tightlacing but even then, it’s nto as bad as you think.

I’m a large lady. My waist in this photo is 26 inches. My HIPS are 48 inches. So- my waist looks a lot smaller than it is. 26 is not actually that small. It’s all the perspective. My organs have more than enough room. My natural waist is only five inches larger than this- so all it does is tighten my stomach a bit and puts a little pressure on my bladder and intestines.  
I have worn corsets for up to 23 hours in the past- and whale bone corsets aren’t a big deal either.  
A lot of the opinions on corsets are based on… really bad medical texts from the age when we treated toothaches with laudanum and didn’t know what bacteria was. Let’s face it- that’s not solid information.
 
All modern medical tests done on corsetry show it to be shockingly not damaging. Think about what the female body goes through when it’s pregnant. Trust me- even the most hardcore tightlacer (Cathy Jung) doesn’t know what it feels like to carry triplets. =)  
The torso was specifically designed to be malleable. The only organs that don’t like that are tucked away and untouchable. Like for example- THE BRAIN.

But yeah, realistically, I can’t see myself wearing one of those. I have a bit of claustrophobia.

You train your waist with gradually tighter lacings until you get the figure you want. This isn’t the whale bone corsets of yore.

I must say I too find this disturbing to say the least. How anyone can think of this as being sexy, is beyond me!

Is that for real? Oh god I find it disturbing. I mean not gorset but that ppl can look like hourglass uhhh…

I feel like she’s rearranged her organs to fit that. How does one train a waist to do that??

Those sorts of corsets are the kind I’d love to wear but hate to train to put on…

Not to worry, this isn’t the old days with the whale-bone lined corset. Penny has carefully trained her waist and doesn’t tightlace.

It really is pretty but when I see those things all I can imagine is unrelenting pain and difficulty drawing breath.
