@ShimmeringStallion
To put it very, very simply a Mary Sue is a character with no flaws, who can’t do wrong and who the world seems to pretty much revolve around for no good reason.
While I agree that Chrysalis in this fic might lean in that direction, I don’t feel Chrysalis quite makes it into Mary Sue territory.

I still kind’ve have my doubts: It’s not like she wanted to win, she expected to lose, after all.
Also, they had changelings tending to ponies earlier, so “avoiding casualties” is more like “having thousands of troops who still take care of casualties, and know how to due to the skills they naturally have as part of who they are and what they need to do to obtain love/survive.”
ALSO, the act of them taking everyone’s jobs isn’t something she’s concerned with; it’s Twilight being paranoid.
ALSO!!!… Allow me to legitimately ask this question.
… What’s a Mary Sue? No, really. I was kinda justifying points based around what the story has said up to this point, but… what’s a Mary Sue, anyways?
@DSF66
And it makes 100% sense for Changelings to avoid casualties as they need them alive to drain their love.
Its the same bullshit of why Discord being a mass murder is stupid, he sees ponies as his toys and don’t want them broken because if they die he can’t mess with them anymore.
Or Windigos who make it clear they don’t kill rather freeze you in a forever state of hate.
@Background Pony #34E4
Well they are not her “drones” here but subjects. As they are her subjects she doesn’t need anything beyond simple orders. She also gave explanation why they are efficient as they are.
Avoided casualties? Duh, show did the same unless you look into head-canon of grimderp fans. If you are one of them, then sorry to burst your bubble (I am not really sorry but apologizes will make me look better :P ).
In fact I detect a ton of head-canon in your post so I’d recommend ya to try and learn the setting rather than trying to fit it into your views. LOL really, here you DO behave like a IRL Mary Sue XD
PS: Ignorance like yours also makes a fine show. At least for me. Carry on :3

The mental gymnastics Mary Sue deniers go through always amuses me.
I accidentally took over Canterlot without meaning to and now everything is in my control LOL! Since I am all-around overpowered let me fix all of the infrastructure that I destroyed while skillfully avoiding any casualties. The skill of micromanaging my thousands of changelings at the same time to make sure that they did not hurt anyone is something I learned last week LOL! Oh also all of my drones that I control are so ruthlessly efficient that they might accidentally take everyone’s jobs LOL! Everyone loves me now LOL! I hope sempai approves
@Background Pony #34E4
How is she a Mary Sue? I genuinely ask because there isn’t much in the comic that I would consider Sue-ish from her. Chryssie wins in this comic, but only because of the very minor change of having Twilight and Cadence too tired and the changeling mooks being too attentive for them to break their bonds and reach Shining Armor. When her victory is apparent, she spazzes out and reveals that she had intended to lose, outing herself as a Card-Carrying Villain with an acceptance of the Heroes Always Win tropes, and she just wanted to play the part of big bad invader for the thrill of it while her subjects collected a love harvest and they could make a theatric exit when they were “forced back”, and she’s also a self-admittedly poor administrator despite the competence of her minions, which was why the harvest was necessary in the first place. Celestia even takes advantage of Chrysalis’ demand for a conventional resolution to talk her into not just surrendering, but making reparations to Canterlot in the process. The Chryslestia pairing is just shipping for shipping’s sake, and it’s not even the most wtf-worthy popular pairing in this fandom and everyone knows it. Lastly, it’s canon that a team of unicorns used to have the spell and duty of raising the sun at least in the time before Equestria was founded, and that Chrysalis ate enough love to match Celestia in raw power, it’s not a stretch to say she can pull the feat off.
I’ve heard Male Mary Sues are also known as ‘Gary Stu’s.
Edited
Oh, I thought a Mary Sue was a “female OC generic name”. My bad.

Guess I’ll be deducting points for that.
presses pen and scribbles stuff
She forgot the hardy laugh!
Which could be used for an R63’d Chrysalis.
!!
In three simple steps!
Step 1: Grab hold of Sun with magic.
Step 2: Move Sun.
Step 3: Place Sun at correct position.
Bonus Step 4: Have a hardy sailor’s laugh.
And it makes 100% sense for Changelings to avoid casualties as they need them alive to drain their love.

Grim-Dark fans are stupid
