To be fair the Derpy mold is generic enough to be half a dozen or more background ponies.
Yeah, I know. I’d prefer that, too (and it’s weird, because they made a Derpy mold when a Rainbow Dash mold is nearly identical to her), but it’s a corporation. They’re always weighing options like this, and looking for shortcuts.
Heyyy, I have a wacky idea. How about Hasbro, you know, make separate molds for each unique pony?
Because they can reuse the Cadance mold if they stick with S1 Luna, and it still looks reasonably like her (at least far more than the recolored Celestia).
Still a lot closer to being on-model than Celestia. At least they are closer to being the same height and build.
Who at Hasbro gets the swimming pool filled with money.
