I agree that that ought to be the general rule. However, I think that for certain rare cases such as this - where one very specific ponification takes on a life of its own, so to speak - there’s room for flexibility.
ponification is used for pics of ponies that were based from a pre-existing character not created by the artist.
Where is the conflict? Who says they must be mutually exclusive?
then this creates a conflict, the ponification and oc tags oppose each other, i guess ponification should be axed.
The creator of this ponification considers her as an OC for herself (see here) - she even named her “Harmony”. I’d say the character’s distinctiveness and volume of artwork qualifies it for that tag.
It’s similar to how Nyx is considered an OC, even though she is in essence Nightmare Moon reborn.
