Perfect. All we need is another five seasons of MLP and we’ll produce enough porn to surpass Pokemon by the year 2020!

I did a rough approximation of when mlp and pokémon will intersect if mlp continues the linear trend that started after mid-2012, and the answer landed around November 2019. The difference in growth speed is not as big as it first seems. Mind you, this might be a year off or so - but it’s hard to do a proper linear regression without typing in all the the raw data in Matlab or something and honestly, who has the time.

The stuff on paheal is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Touhou.  
Other sites like e-heantai or sankaku complex have over 400000 Touhou images. Even if you assume that only half of them are rule 34 they still beat ponies.

This lend credence to my theory that if Pokemon had received a reboot instead of being generational, Pokemon fans would be regarded the same way bronies are, at least on the internet.

Granted, it references pornography, but I’d hope that if someone posted the word “SEX!” and nothing else as an image that it wouldn’t warrant filters.

I’ve not seen too much Marvel, DC, or SF, but I’d hazard it’s all over sites with more humans than those I visit. SF in particular seems like a primarily Japanese thing, while the Touhou I’ve seen is pretty Western.

I can’t believe I’m adding my two cents into an analyzation of a graph about Rule 34 increases spanning 4 years…but…oh well.
 
DC Comics and Marvel Comics being relevant enough to be noted on the graph make me internally rustled, but I guess people like what they like.
 
As for Street Fighter, it almost seems like one that will keep going, but very slowly and almost seems like an underrated category.
 
Touhou doesn’t surprise, there are possibly THOUSANDS of other doujins official or unofficial out there which aren’t posted on the website. If images across the web were gathered, numbers would probably rise significantly.
 
As for Naruto, that 4 month spike seems vaguely suspicious but since I don’t watch it, I could care less. Same goes for Digimon, I thought that series had ended eons ago. That or faded into obscurity.

In answer to your question about the sudden rise in Naruto porn, I discuss it in my March 2013 Rule 34 Update.  
Naruto’s steady increase in porn production is due, in part, to an announcement by the series creator stating that a particular gay pairing would be made canon.

The slight rise in Sonic seems suspicious. Did smashbros.com reveal him in early ‘13, or is that from Lost World stuff? Actually, I’m certain the first Smash 4 footage was released at E3 mid ’13, but again, that curve seems to be based on something… o_o

Why talking about Wonder WOman so much?

It’s interesting that all the lines are essentially straight with only minor fluctuations, implying that each fandom has an intrinsic smut production rate. MLP:FiM appears to have the highest rate, which makes sense, since it is an uncommonly artistic fandom.
 
Given this, it should be possible to extrapolate the approximate date at which Pony content will overtake Pokémon content. I’m not going to do the math right now.
 
I’m also wondering what happened around December ’12 to cause a sudden 3-4 month burst of Naruto, before the rate settled back down.

Sadly no, quite a bit of Touhou porn is not on r34.

Touhou honestly still beats out FiM. There’s loads more on places like e-hentai.
