And now I’m starting to see a lot of similarities between Magic Star with Twilight Sparkle, and Shady with Fluttershy.
The Dream Valley ponies have a really strong sense of compassion and determination, usually. They’re capable of both destroying or forgiving their enemies, and have done both during G1.
Which is what FiM should be.
Despite these ponies almost always facing an apocalypse from powerful evil creatures?
They had their charm. The environment of 80s cartoons give me a more relaxed feeling.
Animation quality is much less consistent, but it’s also much more personalized. You can tell after awhile how they have slightly different looks depending on who’s doing most of the drawings.
Yeah; I like the new series better, but there’s a lot of good stuff from the G1 series too.
