DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAMA!
Won’t happen in the show I agree with you on that. I don’t ship PinkieMac it she was more of a rough personality-placeholder.
And I hope they won’t do any other pairing either.
It’s a kids show, so the would go by superficial stereotypes and naive pattern matching. Whatever the result I wouldn’t like it (strong understatement).
So all there is for me to hope is that they will abstain from it completely.
But this is just a cartoon where so much detail needs to be conserved. Just the fact that they brought it up tells me that it can’t happen. I’m not saying you shouldn’t worry about bonking your 5th cousin, but there is clearly a speed bump in this pairing’s way that PAP put in place. It’s easier just to put it to rest than to try and justify it. They are family. The end.
Then they probably should be very carefull who get on with… If they are worried about common ancestors 5 generations back. They should avoid anyone whose family lived in the same area for some generations. If more then five is a dealbreaker, at 50 generations no one on earth is eligible any more. Same coutry, state or town? Much earlier. 50 generations include remote villages in asia.
Distant but still, it’s there and to many people there is no gray area.
I don’t have the family tree in mind, but wasn’t it like more than five generations?
I think that’s all grasping at straws, even for Cheerilee. We don’t know enough about him or his relationships to really do anything but guess. Anything can be possible if the writers do it well.
Besides, as vague as it is, I think even the possibility of a family tie with Pinkie puts her out of the running.
It’s hard to tell where Mac is strong or lacking (1-D character), but with a good bit of variance I asume Pinkie, Cherilee or even Rarity would be better for him.
Also I think Fluttershy should gain something back.
That is your opinion.
Of course she has, just not for Big Mac.
So yer not trolling? Alrighty, whatever.
It’s an exaggeration, mate. Surely you don’t think mere shipping could soften the heart of a cynic, do you?
Honestly, I think I still ship it because it was the first MLP:FIM ship I gave a shit about. Sure, there may be a bit of proxy in there (I’ve always been a quiet one irl), but I don’t really care either way. And I don’t feel the need to go to pictures of ships that I hate to try to provoke others that enjoy it.
If you don’t want to see anything there, that’s fine. I think Fluttershy has plenty to offer but then I doubt we’ll ever get an answer either way.
I don’t really support any Big Mac-ships, but there is the other way around, were Big Mac gains something from the relationship. But again not with Fluttershy.
With Rainbow Falls you mean Soarin-Dash? Yes, same situation - also not a fan.
Then why would you support any Big Mac ship over another? You’re not going to get him to emotionally connect with anyone if you keep him in character. He has never spoken another character’s name or even said hello. His relationship with Cheerilee is based on little more than that and he had to be drugged to even talk to her at all.
I’d hardly call the shipper reaction to Filli Vanilli crazy, it just supplemented what fans were hoping for without actually giving them anything concrete. It’s just fuel, nothing more. If you want to talk crazy shipper reaction, look at Rainbow Falls.
As opposed to hiding behind an equally anonymous sreen name? I can’t really argue your ‘point’ since it is purely subjective. But talking about blackened harts, that soften just for fluttermac of all ships… if you make that the judge of this matter, I just have to be doubtful of the judge.
They did and it’s sad. A group of shippers that arose around nothing (it’s questionable the two even know each other), and suddenly they have a few scenes were they actually somewhat interact! (Still haven’t talked a single word though).
Of course they have to fixate on it, of course they’ll over-interprete it till it spells the end of the world.
And I still think Big Mac is an airheaded and flat character. Fluttershy wouldn’t gain anything from a relationship with him, they would live next to each other not with each other.
Lack of conflict does not spell a good relationship, if there is a lack of everything.
Ah, I get it now. You’re trying to troll. No wonder you’re hiding behind a BP.
Fan art is going to be generic, it only represents a single moment in time. I think the show has already offered up a better situation than we could come up with in the Ponytones. They are great singers, they are in-sync with each other, I’m surprised that people didn’t go wild with that.
In irl, we all could use less conflict, in fiction and storytelling, there is usual conflict that the audience can relate to empathize and wish to see the characters overcome either in the relationship or externally. If everything goes easy, and no ups and downs in the chemistry, it’s just eye-candy and no substance. Guess that’s why I have been more incline with PinkieMac or CheeriMac, the images express more liveliness and balance rather than the stare in each other’s eyes constantly.
(might be blind though)
Well with how noteble and outstanding this ship is, absolutely everything should be able to accomplish that. Maybe your heart isn’t that hard and blackened. (might be bling though).
Because it’s one of the few ships that can soften my blackened, obsidian heart.
Well, love duets for one thing, since they’re both excellent singers.

And here’s the issue. I never said it would be a dramatic relationship. They’d be quiet and stable. They wouldn’t have much in the way of conflict with each other, which means writing stories about them would be difficult, but isn’t that honestly a better kind of relationship than, say, Applejack and Rainbow Dash would have? Where they’re more inclined to talk out and resolve disagreements than to yell and shout? Where they’re on the same wavelength? Relationships are better with less conflict, rather than more.
You mean Pinkie putting words in Macs mouth, and he just nodding (eyupping) them off? He does that without much reflection, as shown by the same episode.
And even if there was something more offscreen, the “just live without thinking - it will all work out” attitude doesn’t really defy the point of Big Mac beeing barely self aware. Branding that as deep is just Pinkie Pie.
I think that is the issue, Big Mac is pretty much the “straight man” to the group. Only entering his opinion after some pony rants or carries on the dialogue. Fluttershy rarely goes into rants and plays the calm and “straight mare” to some of her more hyped up friends. When there are two “straight men” together, nothing bounces off. Like having Squidward in the community of those like himself: boring.
