Same difference.
Except he isn’t her big brother. He’s her little brother and Illusion’s been his big sis’s friend for a long time now, since those two were kids.
So, the context of this confuses me, unless Illusion and Clarity had a bit of a fight.

I would beg to differ. Illusion should very well be a demi-god.
