This comic pretty much confirmed my headcanon that Discord has a bit of a soft spot when it comes to fillies.

I would gladly give up Three’s a Crowd and Twilight Time for an episode based on this. It could be called Discord Time.

yeah sure it’s not ‘usual’ for scoots and there are lots of reasons it wouldn’t ‘usually happen’ but it is plausible. scootaloo may be rough and tumble but she’s still a cute little marshmallow pony and given the right conditions she’d surely show some affection to – at least hug– someone even besides her idol. and discord not only showed her that he’s ‘pretty cool’ but if she knows anything about the mane 6’s adventures (which i would expect her to) she knows that discord’s biggest weakness is having affection shown to him despite all his shennanigans, and took advantage of it. but even then, I think this was genuine. and absolutely believable.. and gives her character more depth

That’s not a fair comparison and you know it. Rainbow Dash is her hero. Her idol. She literally worships the ground Rainbow Dash walks on (or flies over as the case may be). She wants Dash to be like her big sister. Discord is a weird practical joker who once mind controlled her idol. So forgive me if I seem a little reluctant to believe that Scootaloo would give Discord a big bear hug.

Discord- well what do you expect? i haven’t bothered getting to know anypony for millenia, and that silly little lemonade colored filly tore down thousand of moons of barriers. makes a fellow a bit tender hearted you know.  
why do you think i trolled twilight and cadance? i was trying to balance things out a bit…. which it didn’t since i ended up getting legitimately ill. think whatever is in charge of karma is making me pay my debts.

Oh come on. I can’t be the only one who sees this as a cheap way to provoke feels can I? I mean, Scootaloo, who is established to have a habit of doing things that make her appear tough, is hugging Discord. This just seems to be an out of character moment to me.

Oh no! Discord is showing emotion.
