As someone who was there for it as it was developing, I can say it was INCREDIBLY satisfying when they finally did get together after all the ship-teasing. It's why I don't mind that it kind of took over, because it gave the story development and conclusion.


 
How many of the fan stories you follow ever actually give you anything conclusive? Most of them just sort of squitter to a halt when they eventually stop updating.
