Does that mean that Spitfire was just going along with Soarin’s trying to get together with Rainbow Dash because it would make it so she didn’t have to send him that letter? At the end of episode 9, she asks if Soarin’ is going on a date with Dash. I wonder what made Soarin’ feel she wasn’t interested in him anymore that he went for Dash? Clearly Soarin’ and Spitfire used to be a thing based on all the hints.

Actually Soarin’ said Spitfire never sent him this letter, which implies that she’s considering breaking up with him but the fact that she hadn’t send it is probably because she thinks they still have a shot.
No, no, read the comic. It is heavily hinted at that Soarin’ and Spitfire were a couple, then for some reason, they broke up. Now Soarin’ is with Dash, or trying too. Soarin’ now just found out that Spitfire still really really likes him.
Probably had a fling with Spitfire, but it wasn’t working out. I’m sure he does like Rainbow Dash though.
