The others = random people
the thing I like that they don’t like = Bootleg Sun Shroom Plush
Well, you’re clearly winning this Argument That Was Over About Ten Months Ago.
Well, screw you, too.
Incidentially, the last page I commented on is under 10000. XD
Well warm hugs and kisses to you, too.
Edited because: =[
No, it wasn’t. You just didn’t like it.
How mature.
One of the many reasons I hate this episode.
wasn’t their whole thing about deliberately showing her up
Well, no, since that never actually happened outside the fevered imaginations of RD fanboys who had their headcanons damaged when Skittlehorse turned out not to be perfect.
conspire to make one of their closest friends look like a total tool
They never did that, either; MDW showed up and saved Ponies only after Dash farted around and let their situation get dangerously worse, then MDW took off without trying to hog any glory.

The Dam busting, the Construction work literally almost killing everyone including Dash, and the bus/cart filled with people that she couldn’t stop on her own.
Nnnope, nnnope, aaannnd nope. The dam only burst after Dash let go of it to literally pat herself on the back; the construction site fell apart because a crane malfunction knocked everything down; and Dash clearly could have stopped the tourist bus if she had done so earlier instead of wasting time hamming it up. None of those things were made worse by MDW, they escalated from controllable to EVERYPONY RUN FOR YOUR LIVES because Dash screwed around instead of getting the job done.
@PonyPon
She could easily have gotten Cherry Berry out of the balloon, she was just too busy signing autographs, the same way she let the bus get too close to the bottom of the hill because she was fishing for praise. She had the dam break stopped until she let go of it to literally pat herself on the back, and if she hadn’t been so focused on being congratulated for saving one construction worker, she might have noticed the rest of the building collapsing.
@Background Pony #AF60
There are several around, but they don’t have their own sparate tags.
I meant a situation that worsened by Mare-Do-Well’s actions!
I think her inability got in the way more than her ego did.
You only care about Rainbow Dash, yours and many others is a Rainbow-Dash-serving logic. You say for example that “it only got really bad with the third one”, as if it was worth risking that Rainbow Dash may not save the balloon pony (she waited to the ast second) or the carriange (wich is a strech to think she would), in other words to risk the lives of others, in favour of the chance Rainbow Dash may feel better about herself in a (at that point) pittyful way… priorities.
@Background Pony #74B3
The tourist carriage mirrored the baby carriage, the construction mirrored the balcony, and the dam mirrored the well; they were all meant to be more difficult and more dangerous versions of Rainbow Dash’s previous heroic acts, wich she wasn’t ready for because her ego got in the way.
The episode is rich in visual storytelling.
The Dam busting, the Construction work literally almost killing everyone including Dash, and the bus/cart filled with people that she couldn’t stop on her own.
In comparison to baby carriages, and old people falling… yeah it got way worse for no reason.
Really. Name one situation that became worse when Mare-Do-Well showed up.
Also, wasn’t their whole thing about deliberately showing her up just because she talked big? That rather than to show her how to be a hero, they specifically went out of their way to conspire to make one of their closest friends look like a total tool. Nobody’s doubting that Rainbow’s head got so bog she could wear town hall like a hat. What we are doubting is how some people seem to ignore that the whole mess violates at least three of the Elements just to teach a lesson none of them are really qualified to give, except for maybe Fluttershy.
It should be noted that the disasters didn’t get too big for Rainbow to handle on her own until after Mare-Do-Well showed up, and it wasn’t until the third time she appeared (Pinkie) that they actually did get serious.
They didn’t have to act like such pricks though.

It’s annoying how people conveniently forget that MDW saved ponies Rainbow Dash wasn’t going to save, including Rainbow Dash herself and all Ponivile; that her ego that ended up stopping her from saving others properly; and it’s downright psychotic how people refer to saving others as if it was just Rainbow Dash’s hobby, something only she can do to feel better about herself… ’It’s wrong to take credit for being a hero if it messes with someone else’s ego’ descrives RD’s attitude towards MDW perfectly.
If those ponies weren’t saved, everybody loses, even Rainbow Dash; if the others saved the ponies as themselves, Poniville would adore them just as they adored RD, it would be on a more personal level. MDW was meant to show RD how to be a proper hero, because they wanted her to be a hero, but she had to do it right; they never tried to humilliate her, it was RD who took humilliation wich she didn’t have any right to considering what they were doing.
Pretty much.
@Mayojar77
Sure, except for the part where her gloating nearly got Cherry Berry and a busload of tourists killed, she’d already demonstrated that she was capable of being heroic without being an ass about it, “spotlight” was absolutely never– no, not even a little bit, sorry– an issue, she only ever made herself look like a fool, and there was never any “social outcast” nonsense going on at all other than the 100% standard Ponyvillian herdmind fickleness that has been well-established all along.
“Even if they aren’t hurting anyone with their gloating, and they are really only gloating about the things they know they can do, unless they are sharing 100% of their spotlight, you have every right to make them look like a fool and turn them into a social outcast.”
