I think you’re mixing up chemistry with compatibility a bit there. Rainbow Dash and Soarin (again, a ship that I like) are compatible, but we have yet to see that magical synergy between them that I would call good chemistry. I’d certainly be gratified if that happened in an episode, but so far no dice.
 
Flash and Twilight actually DID have that, as far as it went. The simple mutual attraction between them was cute and it worked well. Where compatibility is concerned, there’s nothing about the laid-back and thoughtful Flash Sentry that disagrees with the orderly and eager-to-please Twilight Sparkle. People should give ’em a chance.

Soarin’ will return later in the season, we know this much, but will they continue to interact? Time will tell.
 
One thing for sure, Soarin’s the most consistent character for the time being.

For actual chemistry, observe. Rainbow Dash loves being athletic and flying, Soarin is also very athletic and loves flying. Rainbow Dash is hotheaded, Soarin is laid back, so he’s someone that can both keep up with her and keep her from flying off the hook like she’s prone to. Soarin’ is also bit of a goofball, so he’d appreciate a good pranking that Rainbow Dash is fond of. Plus, as a veteran Wonderbolt, Rainbow probably grew up idolizing him, and after seeing that the Bolts aren’t as virtuous as she thought, Soarin’ still remains in a positive light. He’s also damn handsome. This ship is one of the most seaworthy I’ve seen.

Yeah, they got along, but pretty much everyone gets along, including Twilight and Flash. The only exceptions are the colossal jerks like Gilda or Blueblood or Whatshername from that Manehattan episode.

That’s pretty subjective anyway. What chemistry was there between Soarin and Dash? I didn’t see any, and I actually like that ship.
 
I thought Flash and Twilight melded just fine though. No glaring friction or incompatibility of personalities at all.

SoarinDash has a lot of chemistry, so that’s not a good example. I’m too tired to type out a wall of text, and also too tired to think of a better example.

I don’t really care about the ship, but I don’t hate it. The problem with it is that it doesn’t really have any chemistry. Hell, even SoarinDash has more chemistry.

I love what Julian yeo is doing for this ship. Adorable and adaptable, it’s slowly warming the hearts of all that read it.

Don’t care for Dreamy Cutebottom or the Flashlight shipping at this point, but this has a cute punchline.

I’ve completely disassociated Brad (human flash) from Flash Sentry the guard in my mind. It makes it so much easier to like him

Still can’t decide if I like this ship or I hate it. Flash is too plain for Twilight, but sometimes (like in this comic), they look so cute together.
