Yeah, what he (or she) said.
That one piece of example you gave proves that she has power when the other princesses are unavailable. It’s like how if something happened to the President of the United States, the Vice President would take over his duties either permanently or until the President is capable of taking back those duties. And if both the President and Vice President are incapacitated, the Speaker of the House would be in the same position. It’s proof that she has power, but not that she is in a position to use that power at all times.
Also, one episode isn’t “half of the episodes.” However, “Twilight Time” also seems to have something to do with Twilight’s position as a princess, and I hope that it’ll be touched upon some more.
As I said, the writing staff are not actually recognizing what she is in half the episodes and it’s really hurting the story IMO.
But the fact is the other half the time they do. Just look at the first episode when the guards bowed to her and she explicitly told them what to do.
That would not have happened had she not been a princess.
It’s like the whole story is in this weird place where they are both afraid to embrace what she is, and other times aren’t.
I’ve given you examples, you gave a cursory counter example which doesn’t explain away the instances we’ve seen.
Things have changed, and so has she. If you can’t see that, then I’m sorry.
Anyway, I’m done, this isn’t a forum.
“what she says goes”, huh? Tell that to the taxi pullers in Manehattan. And the ponies at Rainbow Falls. And pretty much everypony else.
Twilight is an alicorn now, but ponies obviously aren’t falling over themselves trying to please her as if she was Celestia, or cowering in fear if she was Luna. Twilight is pretty much the same pony she’s always been, only now with the added responsibility of being a Princess.
Discord himself is screwing around with her just to see if she can handle the stress and sudden crises that being a Princess often entails.
So… It’s your opinion that her character is changed then. That’s too much conjecture to be considered evidence.
She’s now a princess soon to probably in charge of her own castle. Gaurds follow her orders, she’s a ruler and can rule over other’s now.
She’s no longer a simple librarian, the fact that writers are failing to actually focus on that fact is one of the truly weaker points of this season.
She’s a princes now. That’s all the evidence I need to know she’s not the same. People change, and so do ponies apparently.
Someone put it best, early on in the series Twilight would stand on a soap box (sometimes literally) it was ironic and funny. Now she’s the ruler, she no longer has to stand on a soap box, what she says goes. It’s different, and not in a way I or many others like.
“her character is completely changed”
You want to back that up with some evidence?
It was also confirmed that Flash wouldn’t return and the EQG, though canon, had no direct effect on MLP.
It’s a BS argument that takes away from the fact that her character is completely changed and we don’t know what that means… so far it’s literally meant nothing. Which is even worse then if it had meant something, IMO.
Making Twilight a princess this early was dumb story wise, and character development wise.
All that being said, there’s is no evidence ether way regarding her mortality, and I would prefer if these sad forced mellow dramas stop. Yet, in the same breath they have a point…
Fuck if I know. I’m off to clop.
>Go to the forest of Leota
>start a new library among the luvcats
>They have no idea of what is a princess
>They don’t care if I’m an alicorn
>They like me for me
>Sending a letter to Celestia, telling her that I quit.
That, and it’s been confirmed again and again that Twilight WILL NOT outlive her friends. Whether this means that she’s simply mortal, or her friends will somehow become immortal is still up for debate, but this has been confirmed.
Guys, you die alone, always. No matter how many people are with you in that moment, you face death alone. No one can help you.
It’s not sad. It’s life.
We all knew how this one would be. Gonna admit I was hoping for something a little more original for this one.
