According to the original fiction, the cake was supposed to be the one from the end of S2E24 (which Pinkie ate), but a few times bigger.
Unfortunately, it’s missing in the comic storyboard.
Also it’s a matter of artist’s style for this chapter… And to tell the truth, I’m not okay with this style at all…
The art in some of the other “stories” of this P.F.F. series is actually better then the “Pinkie” story. I think they wanted the Pinkie one to look more outlandish, and cartoonier.
Also, I suppose it makes sense Pinkie’s “demise” would be a total “WTF” moment.
