Yeah, that might work better.
Especially since they’ll have no idea what the fuck’s going on.
Thanks! That means a lot to me. (and congrats for spelling my name right, haha)
Mr. Peelle, no words can properly express my admiration for the members of the HS music team. I really like your work, especially your Sunslammer remix.
Oh pulEEEEEASE. He had already written and finished his own spoof CYOA story back when Problem Sleuth was just getting started. *pushes up hipster glasses*
(Alternatively if you really want to impress them, spoil the fuck out of them and have them watch the 1025 flash.)
Its why as much as I hate giving away spoilers and stuff since without context stuff isn’t as impactful, I feel its more effective to link people to one of the early flashes, like WV: Ascend or the like, to give them an idea of how the aimless, actual-reader-command-driven intro to the comic that is rather boring to read by itself does eventually build into “Holy shit, this has MULTIVERSE sized consequences”
Oh, cool! And thanks, haha. ^ _ ^
Believe me when I say that that’s one of the most common reactions newcomers to Homestuck have.
It’s also a rather unfortunate one, considering that Act 1 really isn’t representative of the style of the rest of the comic.
Like, at all.
Seriously, Act 1’s seemingly aimless goof-offs always been a big complaint even among some dedicated longtime fans. If you can get past the 250 or so pages of that act, the real story really starts to take form.
And I’m not exaggerating when I say: It is a doozy.
Oh I know of the music you guys make for the Homestuck ^ _ ^
Matter of fact I’ve bought The Felt and Midnight Crew not too long ago.
You and your musical associates do great work. :)
Homestuck music team member here. I don’t blame you for being intimidated by the volume! If I hadn’t been following since the beginning (and become acclimated to Andrew Hussie’s style via Problem Sleuth previously), I know I would have had a hard time getting into it myself. Don’t be ashamed to go through it at your own gradual pace if you’re really curious to experience it but don’t have a whole lot of reading time to spare - it’ll be completed sometime this year, after which you shouldn’t feel any pressure to have to “catch up”. Hussie really intended it as an archive-reading experience first and foremost, anyway!
If nothing else, at least take a listen to some of the music that’s been released for the project (don’t mean to toot my own horn, my contribution is relatively small percentagewise, haha). There’s some pretty spectacular talent on the team, and the music stands well on its own - no comic knowledge necessary to enjoy it for its own sake!
I know :P
I won’t say I’m not curious in finding out more, but like I said before it’s sheer size puts me off from digging into it more in fear of biting off more than I can chew and process.
Buddy, that’s not even scrapin the air over the surface of HS.
I’m not all that familiar, but I know that explaining would take far longer then I have on this earth. :P
(All I know is everything revolving The Felt, English, Vanilla Milkshake)
let me be
I know quite enough as is.
