And then I was like: Oh look, Pinkie Pie’s unnamed older sister!
And then I was like: She wasn’t there in the Cutie Mark Chronicles!
And I was finally like: Shouldn’t she look older than the triplets?
She was first mentioned in the Pinkie Pie chapter book. We didn’t learn much of anything about her beyond the fact that she exists, but it’s implied that she’s the oldest of the pie sisters.
This is the exact passage: >>539475
No promises, but it seems highly likely that she’ll be showing up in Ponyville alongside Marble and Limestone before the season is over.
I’m agreeing with you, just to be clear :) This scene had nothing to do with the book directly, only establishing that the canon of a 4th sister introduced in the book is now in the show.
Pinkie specifically said this photo was from her “first party ever”, the same one we saw in “Cutie Mark Chronicles”. It has absolutely nothing to do with Ponypalooza Party. If there’s art specifically depicting scenes from that book (or, like I’ve found, excerpts from the book tacked onto pics like this), then by all means we must include Ponypalooza Party as a tag. But not for this.
I already went in and removed all Ponypalooza tags that do not directly involve the book.
Yeah this is right.
If this happened to be a in-show canonization of a scene in the book, then yes, we’d include the book tag, but (best I know) the book never had the older sister interact so this is a made up scene for the show.
If the rumors are true and the older sister will be appearing in a later episode, and will have drops to events in the book, then there might be reason to include the book tag, but otherwise it should only presently used for scenes clearly based on the book.
We don’t tag all pics of Chrysalis with “A Canterlot Wedding” (her debut, and the only ep. of the show-proper she was in) or all pics of Coco Pommel with “Rarity Takes Manehattan” (the only ep she was in) or all pics of Fleur-de-Lis with “Sweet & Elite” (her debut), or Pinkie’s family with “Cutie Mark Chronicles” (their debut, and the only place beside this call-back pic and the book that they appeared in).
You are being pedantic and wrong, and you need to learn a few things about tagging before you try to lecture others on how to do it.
By your logic we should tag every screencap or vector with Babs with her debut episode. Unless it’s from the book or depicting a scene from the book, the tag is pointless.
It still counts regardless, even if she was an offside mention!
That makes no damn sense. Third-Sister did debut in it, but this scene isn’t from that book. It’s from “Pinkie Pride” and technically references “Cutie Mark Chronicles”.
It’ll just make things more confusing when/if Third-Sister ever actually appears in the show (outside of this) and we have to go back and remove the book tags.
But she had nothing else to do with the book, beyond being mentioned in it once.
Even her appearance here had nothing to do with the book.
They will, or they probably wouldn’t have bothered editing/retconning in “Spunkie”.
