I was talking about the original mane 6 when I said exaggeration.
 
As I mentioned. I don’t know about the series beyond what I’ve heard.

Also, I dunno how you can call the Lunaverse 6 exaggerations, since only a couple of them have any sort of canon personality, and none of them have much known about their backstories either.
 
Raindrops, Carrot Top, Lyra, and (arguably) Derpy/Ditzy are pretty much blank slates for whatever personality/backgrounds an author wants to give them. Cheerilee has nothing beyond ‘kindhearted elementary schoolteacher’ to work with, so yes she’s naturally expanded upon. And as for Trixie, I think she’s spot on personality wise if you’re looking at just her base character.

They exaggerations, but only in a minor sense, and in ways believable if they didn’t have the friendships they have in the canon series.
 
Fluttershy is extremely withdrawn, partly because she’s Fluttershy, and partly because she wants to avoid the spotlight her family has as higher up nobles in this ‘verse.
 
AJ’s got some notion in her head that if the Apple Family (which are a family run super farming corporation) isn’t always on top, Ponyville is doomed to starvation, because years ago a bunch of nobles playing politics caused a famine that was only ended by the rise of the Apples.
 
Don’t know much about Rarity. She hasn’t been seen that often.
 
Rainbow’s mostly the same, except for an extreme amount of over-protectiveness for Fluttershy, which didn’t help her reclusiveness.
 
Pinkie is pretty much unchanged as far as I can tell.
 
Twilight is a reclusive bookworm, who spent her days wandering Equestria trying to learn everything about magic she could (using some unsavory means such as stealing rare books in order to do so). She ends up on the wrong side of the law when she denounces Trixie’s illusions as not a real branch of magic, and mind controls an Ursa Minor in order to try and prove that she was unworthy of being the Element of Magic. She lost control of in in the middle of Ponyville and then went on the run rather than face the consequences.

In this version of the story, Raindrops hulked out early and everything was wrapped up before they even got to Maneiac’s hide out.

Essentially Luna good. Celestia turned bad. Reversed roles.
 
Trixie and the BG ponies take the roles of the mane 6.
 
And from what I’ve heard, so I’m not sure how refutable it is, the mane 6 are all unlikeable, exaggerations.
 
Some say the same about the new mane 6 too, but I don’t know.
