Mix of both; some would have good intentions, while others would actively be ignorant/hypocrites. The ones with good intentions would think they’re basing they’re lifestyle of it but might misinterpret here and there. The ones actively aware of it think they’re following it to the letter but forget the single most important tenant of Christianity: Jesus fulfilled the law of the Old Testament that we didn’t have to for salvation.

Of what I could remember, “Baal” was a pagan god worshiped by the Philistines and not the “God” with a capital g/YHWH worshiped by the Israelites. I don’t remember the phallic symbol part, though, but I probably could look that up||, I’m just too lazy to at the moment||.

While we’re on the subject I read that the word “Baal” (Which is in reference to another god; Not the “I AM”/“I WILL BE”/“YHWH” God?) is actually just in reference to a big phallic statue that Jezebel worshiped. Someone please correct this if it’s not so.

Thanks for that. I didn’t consider how easy it would’ve been for them to get oil at the time, I interpreted it as meaning that oil is a great cleanser rather than using soap and I didn’t think they had soap. Olive oil does clean skin very well, I stopped using soap to wash my face and replaced it with olive oil.

Also, with the whole oil thing since some of you aren’t familiar with it: oil was very expensive and was often used as an item of trade for rich or expensive products. Annointing a head with oil was used as a way of a prophet/holy man of biblical times to proclaim whoever God had deemed their king; it was supposed to symbolize a wealthy and prosperous rule, in addition to the ancient symbol of the holy fire that led the Israelites through the desert during the Old Testament books of Exodus/Leviticus/Numbers/Deuteronomy.

Problem with the logic: First of all, yes a version does note that. BUT it implies the ancient version of a unicorn which, while it had something of a bad temper, was known for immortality. Unicorn ponies are probably long-lived but a far cry from immortal.

I have a NIV Student Bible, seeing this I had to look it up, and it dosen’t QUITE say that. what it DOSE say is: “You have exalted my horn(apparently symbolizes strength), like that of a wild ox;  
fine oils have been poured upon me.” Psalm 92: 10

In the past I wiped me legs with olive oil rather than soap, It felt different. And then when I went into the shower the water beaded off me skin. I find it interesting to say the least, I wonder if Rarity would be into that sort of thing.

In a Biblical context, “unicorn” is a close-enough translation of the Hebrew “re’em.” This, in turn, referred to the auroch, a now-extinct relative of cattle.
