I wouldn’t say so much cornering Twilight as simply wanting to troll the ponies. Pinkie Pie is too chill with him for that to be any fun; he wants to get reactions, and since Pinkie would just roll with his punches, he gets her out of the way so he can mess with her friends more effectively.

It is still a damn shame this is the extent of the discopie “canon”, which was all the more important to reaffirm today…why? because next week there is a potential torpedo that can seriously damage the discopie ship.
 
I hope I am wrong, but I would hate to see the regular and excelent discopie drawings that you and many others are as gentle as to share with us every week…being replaced by…“cheesepie” drawings bleh.

i dont think it was anything personal. as we saw, his real goal was to corner twilight. Pinkie volunteering to take care of him didnt jibe with his plan, so he got her out of the way.  
really, she got off a lot better than rarity and applejack. discord COULD have given her the flu as well, but instead, he sent her off with a balloon that made her happy.
 
plus, this shows that pinkie at least, is happy to hang out with him, even when he’s sick.

I think it’s more like helping her other friends with taking care of Discord, or at least keeping him away from Twilight.  
AJ and Rarity didn’t like him either, but they at least tried to help.

Show me a single scene, in any episode, where Rainbow Dash acknowledges Discord as her friend, and I’ll concede that point.

It is still better than nothing. Pinkie Pie and Discord interaction have been an all time low so far, it is a wonder that Pie keeps being the third most popular Discord shipping here in derpibooru (above Discolight even)
 
This whole hearted if onesided hug is the most that Discopie shippers are going to get. And hell if they don’t feel good with it.

You missed the part where the pony who recently got an episode dedicated to how loyal she is to her friends sped off to the hills the first moment she got.

So, the plot of the episode was that Discord wanted the ponies to uphold their promise to be his friends. The one pony that actually LIKES his antics is more than happy to acquiesce. Unfortunately, Pinkie Pie is so annoying that not even DISCORD wants anything to do with her. Yikes.
