I’ve always been bothered by that mindset, ALL superheroes operate on very minimal logic, If “non-powered” heroes were actually non-powered we wouldn’t bother writing about them because we’d look out and see people doing sick kick-flips at muggers every day.
On the other side of the coin superpowered heroes basically exist on the logic that these horrible mutations are only beneficial and don’t in any way cripple them.
I’ll be the first to admit I like seeing non-powered heroes in the greater world of superpowers and supernaturals, to me it harkens back to the origins of comics with old pulp heroes like the shadow, doc savage, zorro ect.
That being said, yeah, you see alot of times where writers overstate a non-powered hero to try and measure up to the other heroes (almost always batman) which I always feel does more to bring down the hero then build him up, when really it’s probably just better to have them kick teeth in and not actually worry so damned hard about it (comics are so damned wishy washy on what “invulnerable” means anyways) if it really matters; the right fight also helps an awful lot, maybe less focusing on what would give the most “bragging rights” and more what the hero does actually handle well? at the very least bringing in something thats more of a stand up fight rather then the “out thinking” game so it’s interesting to watch.
anyways, sorry for wall of text, just my two cents on the issue.
No, She exists to fall and get caught by people who can fly, Do you even watch the show?
Wouldn’t Rarity have powers though?
Because Non Super powered heroes shouldn’t be in the same series with ones who do have them, They only stay useful with the writer bending over backwards for them,
It means i like this enough that my issues with it don’t matter enough for me to stop and think of them,
“willing suspension of disbelief”? is that another way to say “rule of cool”?
