Not just that he will do anything, but that he wants to do anything.
Sometimes I think most bronies have never been in a situation where they just plain wanted to do anything they could to help a certain someone else, regardless of whether some tasks would be easier for that someone else or inconvenient for themselves.
Both of those would be highly amusing. Or them somehow ending up in each other’s bodies. Twilight gets to see life through his eyes and Spike… gets to live like a princess. That would be hilarious.
The other alternate plan is that Twilight somehow ends up drinking the potion and it turns her into a dragon, so she has to live like Spike. Or they make a bet that they could perform their duties better if they swapped species and use a spell.
That would be satisfying… but the writers would never want to hit that close to the subject of love, methinks. Some part of me assumes his ‘object of affection’ will remain that way for the rest of the show. Oh, the horror!
That is a good lesson, however. Perhaps they would go for it.
I was thinking of something like Spike thinking that Rarity will never really love him back unless he’s a pony, so he does something to turn himself into one that doesn’t let him change back if he stays as one for long enough and Rarity convinces him he’s fine the way he is.
It would be nice of the writers to come up with a scenario that addresses that very situation. I could think of more than a few lessons to be learned from that!
I’ll just stick it on my wish list, i suppose.
I don’t know what limit Spike would go to for Rarity, but I’d like to think that it’s in Rarity’s character to tell him to stop if he was going to do something absolutely terrible to himself.
Still not fair, i say, especially in the context of the morals addressed in the show.
I mean jeez! Give the dude a break XD
He did this because he likes Rarity and wants her to feel the same way about him…
I liked that episode
Every episode revolving around him (in a considerable light) has obviously been dismissed, except for “Spike, at your Service” which has apparently established he’s some kind of bumbling moron/immature child. Every one of his episodes past that point (and following the trend of this season) are likely going to paint him in the same light, like a never-ending catastrophe.
Dammit writers! Just… dammit.
Because no one really likes that episode. Most of it’s been essentially retconned at this point.
Seriously, Spike deserves much better than HER, and perhaps better friends while he’s at it.
That’s the most preposterous bit of headcanon I’ve ever seen! How do you come up with this stuff?
Ouch! Sorry friend, just cut myself on all your edginess there.
But whatever. Cartoon Logic!
That’s the craziest headcanon I’ve ever heard.
