The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Kanrabat

Forgot to add, I bet there’s some clip-arts on DA that used a lot of “stolen” artworks with none of the original artists credited… and the whole thing have a huge-ass DA watermark on it.

the thing was a commition for commercial purpose

Ah, after months, it at last make sense.

I use vectors all the time. But the thing is, it’s the sensible thing to credit every artists for one’s clip art. I do it whenever I can.
I can understand uploading clip arts on a Booru or a imageboard, but isn’t DA a site for “real” artists? And some upload their clip arts there without at least crediting the original artists? That’s lame indeed.

ShopiStar here.

I almost never use watermarks on my works, much less upload a drawing this small, except when I upload a commissioned work that was meant for commercial uses. I hate huge ass watermarks as much as you guys do.

This one was an exception because people from deviantart kept using it in their “drawings” no matter how many warnings I gave. You know deviantart’s logic: “If it has a transparent background, it’s free of copyright”

Just thought I’d clear that up.

It depend for what purpose. If you are trying to SELL something to a company, maybe. If you want to share your work with the world, that’s just being an ass.

JFC, I even saw some watermarks used on comics made exclusively out of screencaps! And dont get me started with the countless peice of “art” that are not even fit for mom’s fridge that is covered with the thing.

TL;DR, a picture with a huge-ass obnoxious watermark in the middle that cover more than 10% of the picture is NOT a piece of art. IT’S AN ADD. And I fucking HATE my booru to be filled with spam.

All right then. It’s not ketchup on the meal. I actually get over it, dropped my pants, then proceed to do just a “small”, juicy, and transparent shit over that meal.

Bon appetit!

@Snack man

Imagine your favorite meal ever. Now the “watermark” will be a whole bottle of ketchup covering every square inch that meal.

Are you going to eat that?
No.
Because your favorite meal ever have turned into shit.

I perfectly know what an “average” bad OC is. It’s just that that DA watermark is like puking all over the work. It’s even more insulting on an OC character. And downright rage-inducting if the art is horrible. Best example: >>79657

Watermarks dont mean bad ocs character or art, its just the bad decision some artist make.

Now I will direct you to anything from pony creator, mary sues, alicorns, red and black ocs, or recolors.

Yeah not an OC, it’s a ponified version of Markiplier, a Lets Players from YouTube. Even if this was an OC character, it doesn’t have the trappings of a bad OC design (like unnecessary amounts of neon and bad color matching [seriously some people need to learn what colors best compliment each other in art]).
