Are you actually rooting for the guy? He cuts corners, gets more money does to some loopholes in the German government, blames the guys who make the original games, and beats up his critics as a public spectacle. He makes Michael Bay look like Orson Welles.

Yes, yes. As long as Uwe stay away from making movies based on games(Postal is exception) i can see something akin to carrer for Him.

And some of his films are enjoyable in the sense that they’re so incompetently made, they’re enjoyable. Who doesn’t crack a grin while watching BloodRayne, and seeing Sir Ben Kingsley in one of the worst wigs/vampire costumes in cinematic history, or seeing Michael Madsen looking absolutely blank/wasted while getting stabbed through the chest? Heck, BloodRayne 3 is a goldmine when it comes to so bad, it’s good cinema; same with Alone in the Dark. Only recently is Dr. Boll turning out to be an actual filmmaker, though. Both Rampage and Assault on Wall Street are credible well-done GOOD movies. But people are always gonna give him crap for making films like In the Name of the King, Far Cry, or the worst of the bunch, House of the Dead.
