It was a cool day in Equestria. The wind had shifted, and was bringing down the cold Northern air from the Crystal Empire.
 
On the Sweet Apple Acres farm, most of the winter preparations had already been finished. However, on the Southeast corner of the farm, a boar had recently broken through some fencing on its way to the carrot patch.
 
Applejack knew that if the fence wasn’t repaired quickly, every critter nearby would be able to feast on her garden. So, despite needing to go to Rarity’s shindig later, Applejack set out early to do what needed to be done.
 
Mending fences isn’t terribly difficult, but when you don’t have magic to levitate your hammer and nails, you have to be creative with your handyponying methods. After a few hours, Applejack took a short break and leaned on a newly-driven post.
