Description
As they traveled down the tunnel, their visibility in the cave seemed to get better and they werent stumbling over their own feet.
“Wow, I guess our eyes are finally adjusting to the darkness,” Magma commented, leading the way. A soft orange glow began to illuminate the path, barely noticeable at first but became more as they got closer. “Or it could just be another glow stone.”
Magma led the way towards the orange glow. “Oh hey its a torch, thats convenient,” said Spike rather nonchalantly. He was about to continue walking with the rest of the group when it suddenly hit him. “Whats a torch doing down here?!” he exclaimed.
“HUH! Wha-?” the other dragons reacted to Spikes outburst. “Yeah so?” Magma asked, “Theyre used to light paths,” he said matter of fact-ly.
“I know that, but someone has to put the torch there first, they dont grow on cave walls,” Spike explained still jittery, “and its lit which means it was put here recently.”
“Hmmm” the other three dragons nodded then they came to the same realization Spike did “EEHHHHHH! That means theres someone down here! The other three said in unison.
“Who do you think put it here?” Snort asked.
“Whoever did has got to be not that far ahead,” Spike reasoned. “Hold on, do you hear that?” he asked.
He looked over to what looked like a light source around a cave turn. He could make out the faint sounds of rocks being broken, a small rabble, among other noises. Spike had a bad feeling about just who would be ahead.
“Hey, maybe its your buddies Snort!” Sharp interjected.
“I dont think so Sharp” Spike worriedly answered. “Snort, were there any of your group who could blacksmith stuff?”
“Not that I knew of,” Snort shrugged.
“Cause this torch, doesnt look dragon made.” Spike gulped nervously.
“Youve seen this stuff before Spike?” Magma asked.
“Once, when I went into a diamond dog mine,” Spike replied.
“So that means” Sharp trailed off,
“I think up ahead is a diamond dog gem excavation.” Spike said.
“Well what do we do?” Snort asked, “Double back, hope to find another way around?”
“I say we keep going,” Magma said, “if we come across any, well just beat em up and use their exit to get out of here.”
“We should keep going,” Spike agreed, “but we only resort to beating them up as a last resort. We lay low and sneak by, we dont know how many there are, or how strong they are, so no charging in and starting a fight, got it? Spike instructed.
Sharp and Snort nodded, while Magma nodded reluctantly, for he couldnt just start another brawl. Spike motioned for them to follow his lead as he crept down the tunnel not trying not to make excess noise.
